The Experience:

Several centuries ago, Rome was known throughout the world as Roma Aeterna, the Eternal City. Rome has lived up to its name as it continues to thrive in the millennia since it was founded.

Combining a modern metropolis with ancient history, Rome has more to offer than can be experienced in a lifetime. With our experienced team of tour planners and guides, we’ll make sure you see the most important sights and structures during your visit to Italy’s capital.

The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter’s Square

Beyond being the capital of Italy, Rome is the capital city of the Catholic faith. For centuries, St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican City has been home to the Pope; the incredible art collections of historic popes can be found in the Vatican’s many museums. Millions of people visit the Vatican each year to witness the Pope’s regular liturgies and explore the tremendous relics of the papal legacy.

Your tour will include a visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Featuring the most important frescoes in the world, the Sistine Chapel can be admired only in silence. You’ll be at a loss for words as you gaze upon Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling. Also of note are the Raphael Rooms in the Vatican Museums, four rooms dedicated to the works of the great Renaissance painter and architect.

The Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill

Transition from masterpieces of the Renaissance to relics of the ancient Roman Empire. Constructed over nineteen centuries ago, the Colosseum stands today as the largest amphitheater in recorded human history.

You’ll walk in the footsteps of gladiators as you explore this enormous ruin; the Colosseum was home to Roman entertainment that included gladiator battles, public executions, and epic recreations of Greek and Roman mythology. Our tour guides put you in the heart of the action, offering vivid depictions of an ancient performance tradition.

Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Pantheon

Having witnessed architectural wonders of the Roman Empire and High Renaissance, your tour will be complete with a visit to Trevi Fountain, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Designed and built in the 1700s by Nicola Salvi, the enormous stone creation is one of the most famous fountains in the world.

The story of Trevi Fountain’s creation spans over 100 years, and your guide will provide you with all of the important details. You’ll also be treated to architectural insight on the intricate nuances of Baroque fountains; Trevi Fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in the city of Rome.
